“May they feel the sorrow in the pain that they have made us feel” Qween Jean

This installation is a sanctuary in memory of O'Shae Sibley, an American murdered at the age of 28 on July 29, 2023, for being black, queer, and proud. Pale pink fabric curtains are suspended in the space. Fragments from demonstrations paying tribute to O'Shae Sibley are printed on them. A tribute speech by Queen Jean is hand-embroidered on these long drapes. The sanctuary is immersed in a sound composition made of demonstration sounds and synthetic lamentations.

PS: The sound composition of the installation will be published here soon.
